Single-room split systems
A wall-mounted indoor unit and outdoor condenser sized to one room — the most common domestic install.
A single-room split system pairs one wall-mounted indoor unit with one outdoor condenser, connected by a short run of refrigerant pipework. It's the simplest and most cost-effective way to cool (and heat) a bedroom, living room, home office or conservatory, and it's what most of our enquiries start with. We size the unit to your room using the same calculation behind our online estimator — floor area, ceiling height, sun exposure, insulation and occupancy — then confirm it on a free on-site survey.
- Indoor unit sized to your room, not oversold
- Quiet operation, suitable for bedrooms
- Cools in summer, heats efficiently in winter
- Typically installed in a day
Frequently asked questions
How loud is a single-room split system?
Modern indoor units run at a similar level to a quiet refrigerator — most are rated well under 30dB on their lowest fan speed, which is comfortable for a bedroom overnight.
Do I need planning permission?
Most domestic single-room installs fall under permitted development and don't need planning permission. Listed buildings and some flats are the main exceptions — we'll flag it during the survey if yours is affected.
